Our Festival focus is to create an experience that is educational, fun, helps you progress your radass, and a way for you to meet like-minded people

  • Van or Trailer site (unserviced) these sites are free to you! and first come first serve in the designated area in the upper parking lot near the lodge. You do not need to book a site as we have the whole Park to ourselves. A Tent site is also included this weekend, so it’s up to you if you want to bring your van, small trailer, or rooftop tent or set up a tent on the lawn!

  • Not all meals are included, so you have some freedom to self-cater or purchase food for supper, for example. Slope Side will be open special hours Friday and Saturday starting ~ 5pm.

SKILLS

  • Level I Beginner: Fundamental Skills to improve your riding. Skills covered include Body Positioning, Speed & Braking, Bike/Body Separation, Selecting your Line

  • Level II Intermediate: Progression in your riding technique. Skills covered include Technical Descents & Climbs, Bike/Body Separation, Front/Rear Wheel Lifts, Cornering at Speed on Flat Corners

  • Level III Advanced: Confident riders that have shown proficiency with Level I and II technique. Skills covered include Drops, Jumps, Advanced Cornering Through Berms, Track Stands, Bunny Hops, Level Lifts, and Manuals

Notes from your Instructors: If you have completed courses with us in the past, we will accept riders advancing through levels quickly to essentially refresh and then skip ahead to the skills that will help you progress your riding. All participants must be able to show confident understanding and application of the skills before leveling up.

GOOD TO KNOW / BRING

  • You will need to sign our Release Agreement and Poley Bike Park’s Release Agreement before riding the trails

  • We know some of you like to arrive early (on Friday), and that's ok! Please note that the best time to get our full attention and check-in/register is starting at 6pm when we have everything organized and ready for you :) If you arrive early, you are welcome to set up your site. The lodge will also be open for access to washrooms. Slope Side Bar & Restaurant will be open with a limited menu for you Friday and Saturday starting ~5pm.

  • Bring a good camping chair, insect repellent, flashlights, and general camping equipment i.e. refillable mug, tupperware or snack pouch

  • Rain Gear: we ride as long as the trails are open and there is no threat of lightning - Rad Womxn can handle the rain

  • Our photographers/videographers will be on site to capture footage, so please let us know if you are camera shy

6-8 PM Set Up Camp, Register, Social

This is a chill check-in process, and an opportunity for you to ask questions and get settled into your camping site. It is also an ideal time to review your Bike Check and make sure you have all your Gear - we will send you these lists again before the event!

If you can’t arrive until Saturday morning, no worries! Our Registration Table will be set up at 8am, so just be sure to arrive at 8am. The trails are opening special for us on Saturday, but not Friday, so please don’t explore the Mountain outside of the posted ride times below :)

Q Is this beginner friendly!?

A You Bet! We will have a variety of skill levels and topics for you to choose from.

Q Will there be opportunities for progression for more experienced riders?!

A You Bet! We will have a variety of skill levels and topics for you to choose from.

Q What does Women+ mean?

A This event is for significantly female-identified people. We use an inclusive definition of “woman” and “female” and we welcome trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people who are significantly female-identified.

Q Will the Coaches be Women+?

A Most, yes! We also welcome male-identified Coaches that share our ethos to be part of our amazing team

Q Which trails will we be riding?

A We will be selecting routes: beginner to advanced

Q What is the minimum age to participate?

A This is a 19+ event.

Q Can I stay off-site and still participate?

A Absolutely! Just let us know in your registration

Q I don’t know anyone else going, should I participate?

A Absolutely! We have had many many riders join us as ‘alone’, and they usually leave with a huggable armful of new friends that they end up road tripping with season after season!

Q Why is the price the price it is?

A We are the first to take on mountain biking events like this, and we are still 25% cheaper than all the companies west of the Atlantic region offering the same type of events. We try to keep the pricing as low as possible without under-valuing the hard work of our team and local hosts.

Q If I can’t go, can I transfer my registration to a friend?

A Yes, you can swap in a friend if you can’t attend. Otherwise, we can’t issue refunds.

Q Can I bring my pet?

A We love a good fur-baby, but this event is for their humans only.

Q Will you be offering any Instruction in French?

A Oui! We have several bilingual Leaders, but we can’t guarantee you will have a French-speaking Leader depending on what courses or rides you sign up for.

Q Should I bring cash or card?

A Either will be accepted for purchasing merch from the vendors on site.

Q Is there access to washrooms? showers?

A Yes, the facility has washrooms. We are still working with Poley regarding access to temporary showers, but that is not guaranteed, so please prepare!

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • From the moment you arrive at a Be Rad Adventures event, we want you to feel comfortable and stoked to be part of a really rad community!

  • There will be many similarly skilled riders around you, and our knowledgeable Instructors and Leaders are here to help get you comfortable with the trails.

  • Throughout the event you can choose your own adventure and ride until you can't feel your legs, or take a mellow approach and ride less, opting for more free time to relax.

  • Bring a lock for your bike - either to lock to your bike-rack on your car or to lock it to a bike rack.

  • Everyone will need to attend a short safety briefing on Saturday morning prior to heading out on the trails.

  • Based in Arizona, Joanna Yates is a popular content creator and an amazing Coach known around the world for her positive attitude and unique approach to helping you progress your mountain biking skills AND SHE IS OUR SPECIAL GUEST THIS YEAR!

Clothing & Gear Swap

We are hosting a gear swap! Bring your lightly-used bike & trail clothing, and accessories to be swapped, given away, or sold at the Festival.

1) Label all gear with your name, email or text for payment, and price

2) Please keep values to free, or increments of $5

3) Claim your gear at the end of the Festival, or it will be donated
